Sample Mean Calculator

In statistics, sample mean is nothing but the average for the given set of values. The applications include any field which requires finding the average such as calculating average score of student in an exam, finding the average of cricket batsmen and bowlers etc. The sample mean is also called as empirical mean.

We can find out the sample mean by adding all the given values and then multiplying the output by number of values given.

Formula to calculate sample mean:

Sample Mean Formula

For example: If the given values are 12,18,24,36.
Solution:
Firstly, we need to add all the given data = 12 + 18 + 24 + 36 = 90
Secondly, we know the number of values given = 4
Hence, divide 90 by 4 = 90/4 = 22.5

Enter the given data in the below online empirical mean calculator and then click calculate to find the answer.

Enter the numbers separated by comma,
Example: 6,8,12,13,17
