Return on Investment Calculator

Return on investment, also known as ROI in short is the method of measuring the efficiency of the investment made on a business or a company. We can calculate ROI with the help of this below formula,

ROI Formula

Example: Matt invested $5000 on a business and after a year he earned $16000. Calculate the Return on investment.

Solution:

Given: Investment = $5000

Earned amount = $16000

We know the formula to calculate return on investment (ROI) = (Earned Amount - Investment Amount)/Investment Amount

Inputting values into the formula, we get = (16000 - 5000)/5000

 = 11000/5000

 = 2.2 x 100

 = 220%

Therefore, the ROI matt earned for his investment is 220%.
