Electrical Conductivity Calculator

The electrical conductivity is the total opposite of electrical resistivity. It is measured in Ω-1 m-1.

Formula to calculate electrical conductivity is given below:

Electrical Conductivity Formula

Calculating Electrical Conductivity

Here is an example electrical conductivity solved problem for your reference.

Example: An electrical system in a house is found to be 10 meters long. The cross-sectional area is found to be 0.0002 m2, voltage is 10 volts and current of 0.6 amps is flown. Calculate the electrical conductivity.

Solution:
Given: Length of electrical system (L) = 10m
Cross-sectional area (A) = 0.0002 m2
Voltage (V) = 10 volts
Current (I) = 0.6 amps

Formula to calculate electrical conductivity is given by: σ = IL/VA

Inserting the given values into the above formula = 0.6 x 10 / 10 x 0.0002

= 6 / 0.002

= 3000 Ω-1 m-1

In our below online electrical conductivity calculator, enter the input values and click calculate button to find the result.

Current (I): [amps]
