Trapezoid Height Calculator

Calculating the height of trapezoid becomes easier when we know the base lengths and area of the typical trapezoid. Here is an example to understand it better.
Trapezoid Height

Calculating Height of a Trapezoid

Example: A trapezoid has a base lengths of 8cm and 12cm. Its area found to be 40cm2. Find the trapezoid height.
Solution:
Given:
A = 40 cm2
b1 = 8cm
b2 = 12cm
We know the formula to find area of trapezoid (A) = 1/2 (b1 + b2) h
40 = 1/2 x (8 + 12) x h
40 = 1/2 x (20) x h
40 = 10 x h
40/10 = h
h = 4 cm
Therefore, the height of the given trapezoid is 4 cm.

In the below online trapezoid height calculator, enter the values in the respective input boxes and click calculate to find the output.

Area of Trapezoid (A): [cm2]
Base 1 Length (B1): [cm]
Base 2 Length (B2): [cm]
Height of Trapezoid: [cm]
