Convection Heat Transfer Calculator

Convection heat transfer is the up and down movement of the gases and liquids caused by heat transfer. When any gas or liquid is heated they expands and raise up because they become less dense. Once they reach certain point and cool down they gain higher density and fall down. When this raise and fall starts repeating it creates convection current and this process of heat transfer is known as convection heat transfer.

Formula to calculate convection heat transfer is given by:

Convection Heat Transfer Formula

where,
Q = Convection heat transfer [W]
Hc = Heat Transfer Coefficient
A = Cross sectional area [m2]
THot = Higher temperature [oC]
TCold = Cold temperature [oC]

Use our below online convection heat transfer calculator to find the convection heat transfer, Enter the heat transfer coefficient, cross sectional area, higher temperature and cold temperature in the input boxes and click calculate to find the answer.

Heat Transfer Coefficient (Hc): [W/m2K]
Cross Sectional Area (A): [m2]
Higher Temperature (THot): [o C]
Colder Temperature (TCold): [o C]
Convection Heat Transfer (Q): [W]
